All you need to know about Threads App
What is The Threads App?
Threads was developed by the Instagram team of Meta. It is used for posting text updates and participating in public chat.
You can easily log in using your Instagram account. Unlike Twitter, posts can be up to 500 characters long, with links and various media formats, including photographs, and videos up to 5 minutes long.
The user interface is similar to Twitter, with options for liking, reposting, and quoting a conversation. Mark Zuckerberg claims millions of people have signed up in the first few hours.
How To Log In To Threads
The app makes it very easy for you to log in if you have an Instagram account already.
The thread app is connected to Instagram, so users can log in with their existing usernames and follow the same accounts on both apps.
It basically imports everything from your Instagram to your Thread account. All you need to do is grant it permission to do so.
Why You Should Try Meta’s New App Threads
1. It is connected to Instagram
Another plus is that Threads is integrated with Instagram, Meta’s photo-sharing platform.
You can sign into Threads using your Instagram username, and you can follow the same account on both platforms. That way, you can easily switch between them and stay on top of your favourite influencers and trending topics.
You can also post your Threads content on Instagram to your feed, as a story or reel, or the other way around.
2. It lets you write longer posts
One of the main differences between Threads and Twitter is that Threads allows you to write up to 500 characters per post, compared to Twitter’s 280-character limit. This means you can express yourself in a way that’s easier to read and easier to understand.
You won’t have to resort to short sentences, emojis, or multiple tweets to get your point across. You’ll also be able to include links, photos, and videos that are up to five minutes in length, making your posts richer and more engaging.
3. The app is free and easy to use
Threads is a free app that is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. It is currently available in over 100 countries worldwide.
The interface of Threads is similar to that of Twitter but with a few differences. For instance, a retweet is called a repost, and a tweet is called a thread. You can create a post by tapping on the plus icon at the bottom of your screen.

4. It has some celebrity
Some of the most well-known celebrities like Chef Gordon Ramsay, Shakira, and actor Jack Black, among others are on Thread. them. You can also find interesting brands and influencers there.
You can follow these users to see what they are up to on different topics, or you can engage with them by liking their posts, reposting them, or replying to them.
What’s the difference between Twitter and Threads?

- Threads allow you to post up to 500 characters in a single post, as opposed to Twitter’s limit of 280 characters.
- Threads ensure username consistency by allowing users to log in using their Instagram credentials, meaning other users cannot obtain a username already in use.
- For now, the DM feature is not yet available on Meta’s new app while it is on Twitter.
Where is Threads available?
The Thread app is available for download in the Google Play store and Apple’s App Store.
NB: If you are under 16 or 18 years old (depending on your region), your Threads account will stay private by default, just like your Instagram account.
You can change your privacy settings at any time. You can also switch between public mode and private mode on Threads, and you can control who can respond to your posts on the platform.
Conclusion
At present, the app displays a mix of content in the user’s feeds, just like any other social media app. In addition to the posts from your followers, the app suggests random posts based on its algorithm.
You can’t view only the posts from the accounts you follow at the moment, as the algorithm has to collect relevant information.
Meta also said that the app isn’t monetized yet, which is likely to change in the near future. Currently, the app doesn’t have any ad content.
