On January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs, the late co-founder and CEO of Apple, unveiled the original iPhone at Macworld Conference & Expo.
It combined a mobile phone, an iPod, and an internet communication device into a single device with a touchscreen interface.
The original iPhone featured a 3.5-inch display, a 2-megapixel camera, and came in 4GB and 8GB storage capacities. It ran on iOS, the operating system specifically designed for iPhones.
2. iPhone 3G (2008):

11. iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (2016):
On September 7, 2016, Apple unveiled the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The devices introduced several notable features, including water resistance, the removal of the headphone jack, a new solid-state Home button, improved cameras, and a faster A10 Fusion chip.

13. iPhone X (2017):
Alongside the iPhone 8, Apple introduced the iPhone X (pronounced “ten”) on September 12, 2017, to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the iPhone.

It’s important to note that beyond my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, there may have been subsequent releases of new iPhone models by Apple.

22. 2022 and Beyond: Introducing the Dynamic Island
In 2022, Apple finally replaced the old notch with the pill-shaped Dynamic Island cutout.
Although not revolutionary, you can mark it as the fourth biggest design refresh to the iPhone lineup. Sadly, it’s only available on the Pro models, meaning the iPhone 14 still has a notch.
There’s also no 48MP camera, no Always-On Display, and no A16 chip on the iPhone 14, unlike the Pro models. Clearly, Apple is trying to widen the gap between the Pro and non-Pro iPhones.
Also, given the commercial failure of mini-sized iPhones, Apple reintroduced the “Plus” variant with the iPhone 14 series.
