According to Fabrizio Romano’s report, Messi’s camp led by father and agent Jorge Messi had already informed the club’s Qatari owners of their decision to move on at the end of the season.
On Thursday this week, Galtier spoke about the privilege he’d had of “coaching the best player in the history of football”.
“It will be Leo’s last match at the Parc des Princes against Clermont,” Galtier added.

Messi and Galtier spent just a single term together in Paris which brought them the Ligue 1 title and the Trophee des Champions.
They failed to lift the Champions League, however, and being knocked out of the tournament by 2020 winners Bayern Munich in the round of 16 could mean Galtier follows Messi out of the exit door – just not on his own terms through being fired.
It will be interesting to see what kind of reception Messi receives from the home fans in his final appearance before them at the weekend.
Since that premature UCL exit, the Argentine has been routinely booed by some pockets of supporters who have been unhappy with his contribution and that of teammate Neymar who could be sold this summer
