NUJ Constitutes Caretaker Committee To Steer Affairs Of FRCN In Kaduna
Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna state Council, has constituted a Caretaker Committee to steer the affairs of one of her Chapels; FRCN in the state.
This followed the expiration of the Umar S. Fada-led Executive Committee of the Chapel and the lack of adherence to the provisions of the constitution of the Union by the Credentials Committee set up by the Chapel to conduct elections into the FRCN Kaduna Chapel.
Kaduna NUJ Declares FRCN Chapel’s Election Unconstitutional
Earlier, the state Council who is vested with the statutory power to supervise Chapels’ election in the state has already declared the election and inauguration of Umar S. Fada-led Executive Committee for a second term without following due procese as unconstitutional, null and void.
This contained in a statement signed and issued at the weekend by the Council’s Asst Secretary, Ibrahim Adamu.
According to the statement, Mr Gambo Santos Sanga was made the Chairman of the Committee, as Mal Mustapha Aliyu Sheriff is to serve as the Secretary, while Haj Fatima Umar was appointed as a member.
Meanwhile, the Caretaker Committee is expected among other things to conduct the election and inaugurate emerging Executives within three months from the date of inauguration.
