If I Have Falana, Agbakoba, Ozekhome in The Supreme Court, I Can Go To Sleep – Matthew Kukah
Bishop Mathew Kukah, the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese in Sokoto State has said he will go to sleep, if he Had the likes of Femi Falana SAN, Olisa Agbakoba SAN and Prof. Mike Ozekhome, SAN in the Supreme Court.
Kukah expressed his confidence in the Supreme Court when he spoke at the Aaere Afe Babalola 60th anniversary event.
He highlighted the importance of understanding the power of the President and how it can be used for the greater good.

Bishop Kukah emphasized that the President possesses significant authority, but the key question is how that power is wielded.
He believed that the current moment provides an opportunity to rebuild the country, expressing his conviction that regardless of the Supreme Court’s outcome, the nation has moved past its troubled past.

Bishop Kukah stressed that for a President to govern effectively, they must first understand the country and the concerns of its people.
Additionally, they need to demonstrate integrity and be adept at managing differences.
Regarding criticism of the Supreme Court, Bishop Kukah offered an analogy, saying, “Sometimes, as the saying goes, don’t throw a stone in the market until you are sure your mother didn’t go to the market that day.”
He expressed his confidence in the Supreme Court’s ability to deliver justice, stating that if legal luminaries such as Femi Falana, Olisa Agbakoba, and Mike Ozekhome were present in the Supreme Court, he would be at ease.
While acknowledging that their presence might not solve every problem, it would provide a sense of affirmation.
