On Thursday, the Former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, paid a visit to President Bola Tinubu at the State House in Abuja.
Recall that the ex-Head of State General Abubakar recently celebrated his 81st birthday.
This visit comes just 48 hours after former President Goodluck Jonathan was also at the Villa to update the President on the situation in Mali and just some hours different from when Tinubu suspended the EFCC boss Bawa and ordered an investigation to be conducted into his practices while he was still the chairman of the institution.
While the specific purpose of the meeting hasn’t been made public yet, it is likely that the former military leader dropped by for a friendly visit.
It’s important to note that a few months ago, General Abubakar chaired the National Peace Committee, which successfully brought together all the major candidates in the Presidential election held on February 25.
Their aim was to sign a peace accord, with the intention of minimizing tension during and after the polls.
