The VMAs 2023 edition, organised by MTV, took place last night, September 12, 2023. Here is every act that took home a moon man.
The annual VMAs was a star-studded event that saw classic acts like Shakira, Doja Cat, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake and more.
Taylor Swift is the biggest winner of the night taking home nine awards.
She also won four of the most sought-after awards at the VMAs. Swift took the awards for Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, and Best Visual Effects.
She also won the Album of the Year award, Artist of the Year and Show of the Summer.
Nigeria’s very own Rema also won the first award for Afrobeats. In his acceptance speech at the VMAs, he shouted out some of the pioneers and big names in the afrobeats industry.
The awards were highlighted by several amazing performances by new cats like Doja Cat and Olivia Rodrigo. There were also amazing performances by veteran big names like Nicki Minaj and Shakira.
The award night was beautiful and celebrated some of the most hardworking artists from the past year.
